Every third Monday in the month of January, the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is celebrated. In the famous words of Dr. King, "Everyone can be great because everybody can serve." We invite everyone to begin the new year through service! Service can bring people of all ages and backgrounds together! Nationwide, individuals and groups will be hosting donation sites, clean up efforts, and advocacy campaigns.
Our Volunteer Action Center will ensure that you can find a cause or specific volunteer opportunity to celebrate in the spirit of MLK Day. Whether your project is on January 16th, or any time in January, you can register your project so that it can be nationally compiled and archived to reflect Americans in service. This year, the Corporation for National and Community Service expect to engage nearly one million people in thousands of service projects in all 50 states.
Please be sure to visit the National Service website for more information about MLK Day, read the president's proclamation, register your MLK Day event, view MLK Day webinars and social media plan, get free promotional materials, and more!
