Texas Tech Health Science Center-El Paso Immersion Program

The mission of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso is to improve the lives of people in our State and our community by focusing on the unique health care needs of socially and culturally diverse border populations through excellence in integrated education, research, and patient care.

The Community Immersion Program is designed to help incoming medical and dental students learn beyond the classroom by engaging directly with the communities they will serve. Through volunteer service, site visits, and community partnerships, students gain a greater appreciation for the organizations, resources, and social factors that influence health outcomes across the Paso del Norte region. This experience helps prepare future healthcare professionals to provide compassionate, community-centered care.
