Doctor Sonrisas

Doctor Sonrisas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the El Paso–Ciudad Juárez border community. Founded in Mexico in 2003, Doctor Sonrisas has spent more than two decades bringing joy, hope, and emotional support to children facing life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Over the years, Doctor Sonrisas has expanded to multiple cities across Mexico and several countries throughout Latin America, impacting thousands of children through the dedication of volunteers, healthcare partners, and community supporters.

Today, we are growing our presence in El Paso, Texas, with the vision of building a strong volunteer network and developing sustainable programs that serve children and families on both sides of the border. We believe every child deserves moments of joy, connection, and hope, regardless of the challenges they face.

Doctor Sonrisas provides emotional support to children facing life-threatening illnesses and their families through meaningful experiences that create joy, strengthen hope, and build lasting memories. Our programs include hospital visits, family events, dream experiences, and community activities designed to remind every child that they are more than their diagnosis.

As we continue growing in the El Paso region, we are building a strong network of volunteers, hospitals, community partners, and supporters to expand our impact and increase access to these programs throughout the El Paso–Ciudad Juárez border community.
