Who We Are

In addition to the Downtown Art and Farmers Market, the City of El Paso's Museums and Cultural Affairs Department manages an array of Public Art exhibitions and programs, Cultural Development, community arts and artist incubator/support programs through our funding opportunities.  Chalk the Block, Music Under the Stars, and Dancing in the City are three annual events that provide thousands of attendees with access to free arts education and entertainment.

What We Do

The Downtown Art and Farmers Market operates and is managed through the City of El Paso's Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) as a small business incubator for local artists, artisans, growers, and agricultural product vendors.  The event is always free and open to the public and features a wide menu of live music, entertainment, theatre, workshops and classes related to different health, nutrition, fitness, and cultural topics, healthy cooking demonstrations featuring produce available at the Market.  Volunteers are needed on a weekly basis to help with set up, breakdown, management of our information booth, customer/vendor assistance and other general logistics, as well as to assist with educational programming and planning, evaluations, data collection and analysis.  Additional opportunities and internships may also become available pending participation.
