

Who We Are
Volunteers needed.
Foster Grandparents are role models, mentors, and friends to children. El Paso’s project is a model for community-based programming. The purpose of the program is to provide volunteer opportunities to low-income seniors age 55 and older to serve children with exceptional or special needs.
The Foster Grandparents can volunteer and receive a tax-exempt stipend of $2.65 per hour. The stipend is not considered income and do not reduce or eliminate the level of, or eligibility for, assistance or services a Foster Grandparent may be receiving under any governmental program. Must be income eligible to receive the stipend.

What We Do
Volunteers serve at local organizations throughout the El Paso County that: Help children learn to read and provide one-on-one tutoring. Mentor troubled teenagers and young mothers. Care for premature infants or children with disabilities Help children who have been abused or neglected.
