Join our Amigas team in making a difference, and developing leadership skills while earning community service hours in a structured, meaningful way. This week-long summer project is hosted by Amigas Making a Difference, we are a female-led group dedicated to empowering women, mentoring youth, celebrating our culture, and uplifting our community. Participants will engage in leadership training, learn how to plan and lead volunteer projects, serve as a mentor for younger kids, and build essential career preparation and college readiness skills.

Throughout the summer program, youth will gain 20 hours of community service, including participation in volunteer projects and leadership activities.

Past volunteers projects include; 

The Mujeres Poderosas Fellowship (Powerful Women) helps young Latina women thrive personally, academically and professionally as they grow as leaders and make an impact in the community.
- Explore your leader identity. Take stock of your strengths and weaknesses, values and behaviors, and the ways in which you influence others.
- Build professional skills. Build communication skills and grow teamwork skills. Develop strategies for resilience, and more.
- Grow your network. Initiate a mentor relationship, connect with leaders, mentor youth and join a peer circle.

This women’s leadership program uses an empowerment model to focus on leadership development and female empowerment topics. The program is geared towards current college students and recent college graduates. Participants are encouraged to develop their own individual, authentic leadership style, while building practical skills and understanding their own strengths. The program provides a space that encourages self-reflection and sharing to encourage participants to lead authentically, advance progressive causes, and achieve their goals.

You have an opportunity to form close bonds with fellow participants — creating an extraordinary community of female colleagues. The group will meet weekly to build leadership and community through skills-based workshops, a mentoring program, and networking. The program provides a forum for aspiring women leaders to share challenges, successes and strategies for leading, growing professionally and helping one another succeed.

The program connects participants to professional women and leading local leaders who share their stories of overcoming adversity, achieving higher education, and their professional success. Throughout the leadership journey, fellows will participate in one-on-one and team mentoring to equip them with the means to succeed in their personal and professional lives. The sessions provide enriching learning experiences and access to opportunities, information and resources.

This 4-month program requires fellows to commit to 5 hours a week to complete individual and group service projects. Fellows work as a team to provide mentoring opportunities and leadership development for middle and high schoolers. Fellows also participate in the planning and execution of a series of women’s empowerment conferences. Students who have not previously had the opportunity to develop their leadership skills are encouraged to apply.

The Community Outreach Internships helps young Latina women thrive personally, academically and professionally as they grow as leaders and make an impact in the community. This is a volunteer role with remote projects, flexible schedules, and in-person special events with a commitment of 4 months at 10 hours a week. These internships are designed to provide meaningful professional experience, portfolio-building opportunities and ownership of real projects that make a direct impact in the community. The program is geared towards current college students and recent college graduates. Interns will work alongside a collaborative team while contributing to outreach initiatives that support youth leadership, education, mentorship, women empowerment and children’s causes.

Participants will engage in leadership training, learn how to plan and lead volunteer projects, connect with positive mentors, and build essential career preparation and college readiness skills.

We are hosting a Care Package Drive to support a local women’s shelter, and we invite you to help make a meaningful difference for women and families in our community. We are collecting new, unopened hygiene and toiletry items such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, combs, beauty items, towels, and lotion. These essential items provide comfort, dignity, and care to women during times of transition and healing. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and will have a direct impact on the lives of those we serve. Thank you for your generosity and for standing with us in support of women in need.

We invite you to support local youth by donating school supplies that help students start the school year prepared and confident. Our School Supply Drive is collecting new items such as backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, markers, and other classroom essentials. These supplies make a meaningful difference for students and families by easing financial burdens and ensuring every child has the tools they need to learn and thrive. Join our Amigas Making a Difference Group to support outreach programs that provide safe, nurturing spaces where children can express themselves through art and connect with caring mentors. We are a women's volunteer group that helps bring healing, hope, and creativity to children who have experienced abuse, neglect, homelessness, or other challenges. As an Arts & Crafts Volunteer, you will volunteer may assist with leading creative activities, developing art lessons, organizing art supply drives, preparing materials, or mentoring participants during workshops. By sharing your time and creativity, you can help foster confidence, self-expression, resilience, and joy through the transformative power of art. No artistic experience is required, just a passion for helping children thrive.

Make a difference in a student's future by serving as a College Mentor for teen girls! Female volunteers are wanted to provide guidance, encouragement, and positive support to high school girls as they explore college and career opportunities. We are seeking female college students and recent graduates to help teen girls on their college prep journey. Mentors serve as positive role models, helping students build confidence, set goals, develop leadership skills, and prepare for life after graduation. Responsibilities may include sharing personal educational experiences, serving on a college panel, discussing college pathways, offering academic encouragement, assisting with goal-setting, and helping students navigate the college application and scholarship process. Mentors are expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, respect, and a commitment to empowering young women. This rewarding opportunity allows volunteers to inspire the next generation of female leaders while helping students envision their future, overcome challenges, and achieve their educational and career aspirations.
