Volunteers are needed in the morning, afternoon, and night of of August 3. See details below:
Morning Shift:
7:30am to 9:30am
Set up luminaries and place around the park and healing garden
Afternoon Shift
3:30pm to 6:00pm
Place candles and light luminarias
Evening Shift
9:15pm to 10:15pm
Help with clean up and teardown of the event
Dress Code:
Volunteers will be given a t-shirts upon arrival.
We highly recommend light-weight attire, hats, and tennis shoes.
About Day of Remembrance:The purpose of the 2025 El Paso United’s Day of Remembrance is to commemorate the 6-year mark of the August 3rd mass casualty event. It provides a safe space for the community to come together and honor the lives lost in the 2019 tragedy and to reflect on our city's tenacity. The luminarias will illuminate the entrance of Ascarate Park and the healing garden, symbolizing our community’s path to long-term healing.
