Needs From: Volunteer El Paso

The El Paso State Supported Living Center is home to 100 individuals with intellectual disabilities that call the center their home.  We are seeking a volunteer with fundraising and grant writing expertise. Duties include researching fundraising opportunities (including grants), doing fundraising outreach.  The volunteer grant writer will be maintaining and meeting grant deadlines, drafting letters of intent, and writing and submitting grants.  This position would report to our Board President. The El Paso State Supported Living Center is home to 100 individuals with intellectual disabilities. We provide a variety of special events, Cinco de Mayo, Halloween Haunted House, Sports Arena, baseball, basketball, volleyball etc. We are in need of volunteers that can help us with these special events. The food service volunteer would be assisting with regular kitchen duties as needed. They would prep food, stock, clean, organize and any other duties as needed. They would be thrilled to get some help.

Our maintenance department is a great need of maintenance volunteers. The volunteers would be able to assist in various basic maintenance job request. Keeping the ground clean, putting items together, maintaining the shop organized, fixing small jobs, etc. Please contact Maria Martinez, community relations if you are interested in not just working for our maintenance department but also learning new skills. The El Paso State Supported Living Center is home to 100 individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our vocational/workshop department is in great need of volunteers to assist in various on going events, arts and crafts, recycling, shredding, printing, etc. The volunteer would assist in various areas as needed. This volunteer would be working closely with the residents as well as the staff on on-going projects. If you are outgoing, creative, ability to teach others then this is the volunteer job for you. Our active treatment department is in great need of volunteers to help assist with ongoing active treatment programs, events, projects, sports, community events as well. We are looking for a few good volunteers that would like to participate and engage in various events. They will work with your schedules and you will enjoy being part of the Team. The El Paso State Supported Living Center is in need of a few volunteers to help take the 100 individuals with intellectual disabilities to the community games, example: baseball, soccer, volleyball, etc. The volunteer must be available for at least 3-4 hours during these events. The volunteer will assist in checking the attendance to and from the games. Volunteer will assist in preparing the equipment for the games. Volunteer will assist in all duties assigned by the supervisor.
