What We Do
The Opportunity Center for the Homeless exists for all the homeless without distinction of race, ethnicity, language, or religion and regardless of mental, drug or alcoholic problems. The Center supports the homeless to move beyond their condition if they are capable; or protects them if they cannot improve their condition in society because of emotional or psychological disorders. The Opportunity Center for the Homeless was established in 1994 in an effort to address the effective delivery of services to homeless people. Founded by the El Paso Coalition for the Homeless, the Opportunity Center has become the centralized point of access to homeless services for the past 13 years. The Center is overseen by a volunteer board of directors that comprises local businesses, faith community, supportive services organization and both current and formerly homeless men and women. It is this unique blending of the communty that enables us to meet the growing needs of the homeless.
