Who We Are

We are a faith based community founded in 1996 by Dominican Sisters for the spiritual, educational, and economic empowerment of economically poor women and for the welfare of our families.

What We Do

Centro Santa Catalina is a non-profit organization focused on empowering women in Juárez, Mexico. It offers various programs to help women gain economic independence and improve their quality of life. The organization provides educational opportunities, life skills training, and job opportunities, particularly through a sewing cooperative where the women create handmade products like bags, aprons, and quilts. These items are sold to support the women and their families. Centro Santa Catalina also promotes environmental sustainability and community development through various initiatives, all aimed at lifting women out of poverty and giving them the tools to succeed.
