Who We Are
The mission of Christmas Street is to promote and advance the general charitable objectives of the Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center. PdNCDC, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1948, is dedicated to helping children with special needs, their families, and the community with therapeutic, educational, child care, and support services. Services provided by the Center include physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, early childhood education, parent training and counseling, and Applied Behavior Analysis for children with an Autism Spectrum diagnosis. Additionally, the Center provides day care services for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, after-school care for children 6 to 12 years, and a summer camp program through El Papalote Inclusive Child Development Center. Through the Community Resource Center, the PdNCDC conducts seminars and outreach training to educate parents and caregivers of children with special needs as well as the community.
What We Do
The Auxiliary to the Paso del Norte Children's Development Center, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 1969 to financially assist the Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center through its fundraising efforts. In 1973 the Auxiliary created the "Christmas Street" Gala event as a way of raising public awareness for the Center and as a unique way to raise funds. Custom designed and decorated Christmas trees are auctioned off at the gala fund raiser in early December. All proceeds from the event go to support therapy, autism, and outreach services provided by the PdNCDC.
