Disaster Action Teams (DAT) provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information to help families begin the process of recovery. The Disaster Action Team (DAT) Member supports capacity building activities necessary to ensure effective service delivery during a DAT response.
What You’ll Do as a Volunteer: Join regular team meetings and training sessions. Help with important Disaster Action Team (DAT) tasks, such as: Getting vehicles and response materials ready. Assisting with scheduling and supporting team meetings. Helping new volunteers get started and grow as leaders. Providing general administrative support to keep the program running smoothly.
Qualifications:
- Able to follow and carry out supervisor requests with little supervision.
- Flexible and adaptable—comfortable with change and ambiguity.
- Can build strong relationships with individuals and groups to support DAT program goals.
- Willing to follow current public health and Red Cross policies.
