Day of Remembrance- Help Us Place Luminarias Around Ascarate Park

Description

Join United Way and the Center for Resiliency in honoring our community by volunteering at the Day of Remembrance on Sunday, August 2. The Day of Remembrance commemorates those impacted by the August 3, 2019 tragedy and provides our community with an opportunity to reflect, remember, and heal together. Volunteers will serve at Ascarate Park by helping prepare for and support the evening remembrance ceremony.

Multiple shifts available. Please report to the Pavillion inside Ascarate Park upon arrival. You are welcome to stay and volunteer multiple shifts. Parking available on a first-come first-serve basis. Please wear comfortable outdoor clothing, wear a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the heat. Cold drinks will be available.

This is a meaningful opportunity to give back through service while standing in solidarity with our community and those affected by the tragedy. Family and friends are welcome to volunteer alongside YLS members.
